OMG!! I LOVE this episode! Waxwork is one of my FAVORITE horror films of all time, and back in the day when people used to rent vhs tapes, I would always pic this tape as the one I would rent as a teen even if I had rented it the previous week.
As for the Marquis…well,…..I would say you could do your own research on him…he was very evil, to say the least. I actually went and bought a book because of this movie, and the book was soooo disturbing I just ended up throwing it away…I didn’t even want it in my room. The guy was pretty icky to cruel to say the least.
Waxwork II is a bit more comical, but still campy and fun. I LOVED both films and would love for you guys to review the 2nd of this series.
Waxwork actually has a really cool plot and Creepshow type feel to it. I love it!
The guy’s grandfather is trying to get rid of the evil objects (similar to Friday the 13th the series), and the other evil guy is trying to unleash these evil creatures upon mankind. You find out more about the grandfather and his mission (and a time machine) in Waxwork II.
Each vignete (sp?) is fun (though I wish the zombie portion was scarier) and I do wish they would make a Waxwork III.
According to the link I posted in my previous comment, there are some things that were left out of this film (the website creator got a hold of the original script!!),
There were 4 evil characters not included—–Jason Voorhees, the children from the village of the damned, the Golem, and The thing. there was also supposed to be more detail re: the plant from little shop of horrors.
Hey guys…I think I have got you and Horroretc podcast mixed up…they are in Canada…are you guys in canada as well? for some reason I thought you were, but I may be wrong. If i am, what state are you all from (I was tempted to say y’all, but I digress–though, at times Dead Mike sounds like he has a slight Canadian accent).

Omg! I found a great waxwork site!!

PS., I think the whole grandfather backstory is what makes this film so good!! if it were just about some haunted waxwork scenes, it would be lame.
